Jakob Maurer
Paesaggista tedesco della colonia di Kronberg
Jakob Maurer era un pittore paesaggista tedesco. Maurer studiò all'Istituto d'Arte Städel e fu allievo del pittore Jakob Becker lì. Il suo compagno di classe Carl Theodor Reiffenstein influenzò anche il suo sviluppo artistico a Francoforte sul Meno. Maurer si trasferì poi a Düsseldorf, un centro di formazione pittorica in Europa attraverso la Scuola di Pittura di Düsseldorf, e fu allievo privato di August Weber insieme a Anton Burger, la cui pittura paesaggistica era influenzata da Johann Wilhelm Schirmer. Maurer lived and worked in Kronberg and was a member of the Kronberg painters' colony. Jakob Maurer morì il 2 maggio 1887 a Kronberg all'età di oltre 60 anni.
