Jakob Maurer

Jakob Maurer foi um pintor de paisagens alemão. Maurer estudou no Instituto de Arte Städel e foi aluno do pintor Jakob Becker lá. Seu colega de classe Carl Theodor Reiffenstein também influenciou seu desenvolvimento artístico em Frankfurt am Main. Maurer mudou-se mais tarde para Düsseldorf, um centro de formação em pintura na Europa através da Escola de Pintura de Düsseldorf, e foi aluno particular de August Weber com Anton Burger, cuja pintura de paisagens foi influenciada por Johann Wilhelm Schirmer. Maurer lived and worked in Kronberg and was a member of the Kronberg painters' colony. Jakob Maurer faleceu em 2 de maio de 1887 em Kronberg aos mais de 60 anos de idade.
