루이스의 제임스 램버트

제임스 램버트 시니어는 1725년 서식스에서 태어났습니다. 그는 존 램버트(1690-1764)와 그의 아내 수잔나의 아들이었습니다. 램버트 가족은 1730년경 루이스로 이주하여 마을의 클리프 지역에 살았습니다. 제임스는 그의 조카인 제임스 램버트 주니어(1741-1799)와 쉽게 혼동되는데, 후자는 그의 아들이 아니라 조카였습니다. 두 사람은 서식스의 교회, 성, 수도원, 컨트리 하우스 및 지역 풍경을 그린 수많은 그림을 제작했습니다. 이 두 사람은 함께 작업하기도 했으며 때로는 작품에 단순히 "제임스 램버트"라고 서명하기도 했습니다.
