刘易斯的詹姆斯·兰伯特

老詹姆斯·兰伯特于1725年出生在苏塞克斯。他是约翰·兰伯特（1690-1764）及其妻子苏珊娜的儿子。兰伯特家族于1730年左右搬到了刘易斯，并住在该镇的克利夫地区。詹姆斯很容易与他的亲戚小詹姆斯·兰伯特（1741-1799）混淆，后者显然是他的侄子而非儿子。两人都创作了大量描绘苏塞克斯教堂、城堡、修道院、乡村住宅和当地景色的画作。这两人还曾合作，有时仅在作品上署名"詹姆斯·兰伯特"。
