James Pollard

James Pollard era un pittore britannico noto per le sue scene di diligenze, caccia alla volpe ed equine. Pollard nacque a Baynes Spa Fields (in seguito rinominata Exmouth Street) a Islington, figlio del pittore ed editore Robert Pollard (1755–1838). Tra il 1821 e il 1839, James Pollard espose alla Royal Academy. Espose alla British Institution nel 1824 e nel 1844. Durante la sua carriera, lavorò anche con John Frederick Herring Sr. su diverse dipinte di corse ippiche nelle quali dipinse gli sfondi e gli spettatori mentre Herring dipinse i cavalli. Molte delle sue composizioni furono pubblicate come acquatinte, sebbene, a differenza di suo padre, egli stesso incise solo poche lastre. James Pollard morì a Chelsea nel 1867.
