英馬車と馬を描く
James Pollardは、郵便馬車、狐狩り、馬の情景画で知られる英国の画家でした。 ポラードは、イズリントンのベインズ・スパ・フィールズ（後にエクスマス・ストリートに改名）で生まれた。画家であり出版商でもあるロバート・ポラード（1755–1838）の息子である。 1821年から1839年の間、ジェームズ・ポラードはロイヤル・アカデミーで出品した。1824年と1844年にはブリティッシュ・インスティテューションで出品した。彼のキャリア中、ジョン・フレデリック・ヘリング・シニアと協力して数点の競馬画を制作した。ポラードは背景と観客を描き、ヘリングは馬を描いた。 彼の作品の多くはアクアチントとして出版されたが、父親とは異なり、自分で彫った版はわずかだった。 James Pollardは1867年にチェルシーで亡くなった。
