James Pollard

James Pollard foi um pintor britânico conhecido por suas cenas de diligências, caça à raposa e equinas. Pollard nasceu em Baynes Spa Fields (mais tarde renomeado Exmouth Street) em Islington, filho do pintor e editor Robert Pollard (1755–1838). Entre 1821 e 1839, James Pollard expôs na Royal Academy. Ele expôs na British Institution em 1824 e 1844. Durante sua carreira, ele também trabalhou com John Frederick Herring Sr. em várias pinturas de corridas de cavalos nas quais ele pintou os fundos e os espectadores enquanto Herring pintou os cavalos. Muitas de suas composições foram publicadas como aquatintas, embora, ao contrário de seu pai, ele mesmo gravou apenas poucas placas. James Pollard morreu em Chelsea em 1867.
