James Stephanoff

James Stephanoff era un abile pittore acquerellista britannico che lavorò principalmente durante il periodo della Reggenza in Gran Bretagna. Le opere di Stephanoff si concentrano sulla rappresentazione di scene di eventi contemporanei e storici, sebbene abbia anche dipinto ritratti più piccoli e scene d'interni. Fu lodato per la sua attenzione ai dettagli nei costumi storici e per la sua abilità nella composizione, spesso raggruppando un gran numero di persone in una scena. Ciò gli valse la nomina a Pittore Storico ad Acquerello del re Guglielmo IV nel 1831. Per il re e altri illustri mecenati, Stephanoff realizzò opere che raffiguravano eventi come l'incoronazione del re Giorgio IV e il processo della regina Carolina.
