Jan Baptist Lambrechts

Jan Baptist Lambrechts foi um pintor flamengo do século XVIII. Ele é conhecido principalmente por suas cenas de gênero que retratam beberrões, cozinheiros, empregadas, vendedores de legumes e camponeses dançando. Jan Baptist Lambrechts nasceu em Antuérpia, filho de Jacob e Anna Deckers. Seus pais morreram quando ele ainda era muito jovem. Seu meio-irmão Jeroom Lambrechts permitiu que ele desenvolvesse suas habilidades artísticas por meio do autodidatismo. Em 1703, ele partiu para Lille com o objetivo de vender pinturas na feira anual. Isso foi seguido por anos de viagens. Jan Baptist Lambrechts só retornou a Antuérpia em 1709, onde se tornou mestre da Guilda local de São Lucas. Ele deixou sua cidade natal, Antuérpia, em 1731, pouco antes de morrer.
