Johann Richter
Venetiaanse baroklandschappen
Johan Richter, of Giovanni Richter, was een Zweedse barokschilder. Richter werd geboren in Stockholm, Zweden. Tot zijn broers behoorde de medaillewinnaar Bengt Richter (1670–1735). Hij schilderde voornamelijk landschappen of vedute van Venetië. Rond 1710 reisde hij naar Venetië, waar hij vanaf 1717 als actief wordt vermeld. Zijn werk werd beïnvloed door de Italiaanse schilder Luca Carlevarijs (1663–1730). Hij overleed in 1745 in Venetië.
