Johann Rudolph Schellenberg
Pionero en ilustración de insectos
Johann Rudolph Schellenberg fue un artista, escritor y entomólogo suizo, conocido principalmente por sus ilustraciones de insectos. Durante su carrera, realizó trabajos de ilustración para Johann Heinrich Sulzer, Johannes Gessner, Johann Kaspar Lavater y Johann Kaspar Füssli. En 1806 delimitó el suborden Adephaga (orden Coleoptera). La biblioteca municipal de Winterthur conserva alrededor de 4000 acuarelas de insectos suyas.
