Johann Wolfgang Baumgartner fue un pintor rococó austro-alemán. Nació como Johann Wolfgang Baumgartner en el Tirol y aprendió pintura sobre vidrio en Salzburgo. Se mudó a Augsburgo y trabajó como pintor sobre vidrio. La pintura del techo del Santuario de la Santa Cruz de las antiguas montañas de Klosters se considera su obra más grande e importante.
