约翰·奥古斯都·阿特金森
描绘俄国风俗与海战
约翰·奥古斯塔斯·阿特金森是一位英国艺术家、版画家和水彩画家。 阿特金森出生于伦敦。1784年，他前往圣彼得堡投奔其叔叔詹姆斯·沃克，后者是叶卡捷琳娜大帝女皇的雕刻师。在那里，他在叶卡捷琳娜及其子保罗一世的鼓励下，在绘画画廊中学习，并受保罗委托绘制俄罗斯历史的大型画作。 1801年，阿特金森返回英国，并于1803年出版了《俄罗斯人的风俗、习惯和娱乐的如画表现》，全书共100幅版画，均由他亲自绘制和蚀刻。他还从事水彩画创作，并于1808年当选为水彩画家学会会员。在拿破仑战争期间，他的许多作品都以海军题材为主。他绘制了许多战斗场景，包括一幅《滑铁卢战役》，该作品由约翰·伯内特雕刻成版画。 他最后一次向皇家艺术学院展览提交作品是在1829年。他于1830年3月25日在伦敦去世。他的遗嘱日期为1830年。
