約翰·奧古斯都·阿特金森

約翰·奧古斯塔斯·阿特金森是一位英國藝術家、版畫家和水彩畫家。 阿特金森出生於倫敦。1784年，他前往聖彼得堡投奔其叔叔詹姆斯·沃克，後者是葉卡捷琳娜大帝女皇的雕刻師。在那裡，他在葉卡捷琳娜及其子保羅一世的鼓勵下，在繪畫畫廊中學習，並受保羅委託繪製俄羅斯歷史的大型畫作。 1801年，阿特金森返回英國，並於1803年出版了《俄羅斯人的風俗、習慣和娛樂的如畫表現》，全書共100幅版畫，均由他親自繪製和蝕刻。他還從事水彩畫創作，並於1808年當選為水彩畫家學會會員。在拿破崙戰爭期間，他的許多作品都以海軍題材為主。他繪製了許多戰鬥場景，包括一幅《滑鐵盧戰役》，該作品由約翰·伯內特雕刻成版畫。 他最後一次向皇家藝術學院展覽提交作品是在1829年。他於1830年3月25日在倫敦去世。他的遺囑日期為1830年。
