John Donowell

John Donowell fu un architetto e incisore britannico del XVIII secolo, considerato l'equivalente di Thomas Sandby e Thomas Malton come uno dei principali disegnatori di architettura nell'ultimo quarto del XVIII secolo. Espose nel 1761 alla Free Society, poi negli anni 1760 alla Society of Artists, e dal 1778 al 1786 alla Royal Academy; in quel periodo furono pubblicate stampe, alcune colorate a mano. Donowell realizzò numerosi disegni topografici, per lo più vedute di Londra, come quella del Grand Walk nei allora alla moda Marylebone Gardens.
