John Donowell
Topografische gezichten van Londen
John Donowell was een achttiende-eeuwse Britse architect en graveur, beschouwd als het equivalent van Thomas Sandby en Thomas Malton als een van de belangrijkste architectuurtekenaars in het derde kwart van de achttiende eeuw. Hij exposeerde in 1761 bij de Free Society, vervolgens in de jaren 1760 bij de Society of Artists, en van 1778 tot 1786 bij de Royal Academy; prenten, sommige handgekleurd, werden in deze periode gepubliceerd. Donowell maakte een aantal topografische tekeningen, voornamelijk gezichten van Londen, zoals die van de Grand Walk in de toen modieuze Marylebone Gardens.
