John Fulleylove
Engels landschapsschilder en illustrator
John Fulleylove was een Engels landschapskunstenaar en illustrator. Geboren in Leicester, werd hij oorspronkelijk opgeleid als architect bij het lokale bureau "Shenton and Baker", voordat hij kunstenaar werd in aquarel en olieverf. Hij exposeerde vanaf 1871 breed in Engeland op locaties in Londen zoals de Royal Academy, de Royal Society of British Artists, de Fine Art Society, het Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, het Royal Institute of Oil Painters, en in vele andere regionale steden en gemeenten. Hij werd lid van het RI in 1879 en van het ROI in 1883. In het buitenland schilderde hij in Frankrijk, Italië, Griekenland en het Midden-Oosten. Zijn aquarelillustraties verschenen in verschillende reisboeken, zoals die van A & C Black. Fulleylove overleed op 22 mei 1908 in zijn huis in Hampstead en werd begraven aan de oostzijde van Highgate Cemetery. In 1878 trouwde Fulleylove met de kunstenaar Elizabeth Elgood. Hun dochter Joan Fulleylove (1886–1947) werd een bekend ontwerper van gebrandschilderd glas en maakte ramen voor de anglicaanse kathedraal in Khartoem. Ze hadden ook een zoon, John Christopher Fulleylove, die trouwde met Margery Dudeney, de dochter van puzzelontwerper Henry Dudeney.
