John Morgan

John Morgan foi um bem-sucedido artista de gênero inglês. Nascido em Pentonville, no norte de Londres, Morgan estudou na School of Design de Londres e também se formou em Paris sob a orientação de Thomas Couture (1815–1879). Enquanto vivia em Aylesbury em 1861, ele alcançou fama com suas pinturas The Jury e The Country Auction. Membro da Society of British Artists (SBA), sua obra foi influenciada por Thomas Webster e William Powell Frith. Seu filho Frederick Morgan foi um artista igualmente popular, mais conhecido por «His Turn Next», famosa por ter sido usada na campanha publicitária do sabonete Pears. Ele morreu em Hastings.
