John Samuel Pughe

John Samuel Pughe fue un caricaturista político estadounidense nacido en Gales, más conocido por sus ilustraciones para la revista Puck. John Samuel Pughe nació en Dolgelley, Merionethshire, Gales, y fue llevado a América por sus padres cuando tenía dos años. Estudió arte en la Cooper Union. J. S. Pughe ilustró reportajes para el New York Recorder, Brooklyn Life y la edición de Brooklyn del World cuando era joven. Comenzó a trabajar en la revista Puck en 1894. Fue colaborador habitual allí hasta su última viñeta, publicada en diciembre de 1908. Pughe murió en 1909, a los 38 años, en Lakehurst, Nueva Jersey, donde había pasado varios meses para mejorar su salud.
