John Samuel Pughe

John Samuel Pughe foi um cartunista político americano nascido no País de Gales, mais conhecido por suas ilustrações na revista Puck. John Samuel Pughe nasceu em Dolgelley, Merionethshire, País de Gales, e foi levado para a América pelos seus pais quando tinha dois anos de idade. Estudou arte na Cooper Union. J. S. Pughe ilustrou reportagens para o New York Recorder, o Brooklyn Life e a edição do Brooklyn do World quando era jovem. Começou a trabalhar na revista Puck em 1894. Foi colaborador regular até a sua última charge, publicada em dezembro de 1908. Pughe faleceu em 1909, aos 38 anos, em Lakehurst, Nova Jérsei, onde havia passado vários meses para melhorar sua saúde.
