約翰·伍德
英國歷史與肖像畫家
約翰·伍德是一位英國歷史和肖像畫家。他是風景畫家兼繪畫教師約翰·喬治·伍德的兒子，出生於倫敦。 他在薩斯學校以及皇家藝術學院學習，並於1825年在皇家藝術學院獲得繪畫金獎。 1834年，他成功競得伯蒙德西聖詹姆斯教堂祭壇畫的委託；1836年，他憑藉作品《塔中的伊麗莎白》在曼徹斯特獲獎。 在他職業生涯的後期，他主要繪製宗教題材作品和肖像畫，並在1862年之前大量於皇家藝術學院和不列顛學會展出。他為羅伯特·皮爾爵士、格雷伯爵、約翰·布里頓（藏於國家肖像館）等人創作的肖像畫以及他的多幅幻想題材作品已被製成版畫。
