John Yenn

John Yenn fu un notevole architetto inglese del XVIII secolo. Yenn nacque l'8 marzo 1750. Fu studente alla Royal Academy dal settembre 1769. Fu eletto associato dell'accademia nel 1774 e accademico effettivo nel 1791. Servì come tesoriere dell'accademia dal 1796 al 1820. Fu allievo di Sir William Chambers. Alla fine degli anni 1770 succedette a Chambers come architetto del Duca di Marlborough a Blenheim Palace, dove le sue opere inclusero, nel 1789, la progettazione del piccolo «Tempio della Salute» in stile corinzio, costruito per celebrare la guarigione di Giorgio III dalla malattia. Nelle vicinanze, nel 1783, costruì una nuova navata laterale nella chiesa di Woodstock. Chambers gli procurò altri importanti incarichi: nel 1780 divenne Ispettore dei Lavori a Richmond Park, e in seguito ricoprì lo stesso ruolo a Kensington Palace, a Buckingham House e alle Scuderie Reali.
