约瑟夫·威廉姆斯·洛维邦德
发明啤酒比色计
约瑟夫·威廉斯·洛维邦德是一位英国酿酒师，他开发了世界上第一台实用比色计，以确保其啤酒的高品质。他是洛维邦德度标尺的创始人。 十几岁时，洛维邦德意外失去了他在金矿开采中赚得的收入，随后进入家族啤酒厂工作。他发现色泽是评估啤酒质量的良好指标，并寻求一种准确测量颜色的方法。在使用颜料对固体进行测量的实验失败后，1880年参观索尔兹伯里大教堂的经历给了他灵感，促使他使用彩色玻璃制作比色计，并于1885年推出。 1885年，他创立了Tintometer Limited公司，用于生产其被称为洛夫邦德比色计的色度计。该公司至今仍然存在，并继续生产更新版的洛夫邦德比色计。
