Jozef Hanula
Pionier der slowakischen Kinderbuchillustration
Jozef Hanula war ein slowakischer Maler. Er studierte an der Regionalen Zeichenschule in Budapest bei Š. Hollósy und an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München. Ab 1908 arbeitete er auch als Buchillustrator und war insbesondere in der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur bahnbrechend tätig. Er malte die Innenräume katholischer Kirchen in Banská Bystrica (1935), Banská Bystrica-Sásová (1940), Banská Bystrica-Radvani und anderen Orten. 1919 war er Mitbegründer der Vereinigung slowakischer Künstler in Martin. 1941 erhielt er den Staatspreis.
