朱尔·施马尔齐高
比利时未来派光影画家
朱尔斯·施马尔齐高格是一位比利时未来主义画家。 他出身于一个富裕的家庭,家族来自德国,居住在安特卫普。从16岁起,施马尔齐高便广泛游历。1905年至1906年间,他游历意大利,其中威尼斯给他留下了尤为深刻的印象并产生了重要影响。 回到安特卫普后,他成为艺术协会"Kunst van Heden/L'Art Contemporain"的秘书,并致力于国际展览的组织工作。1910年至1912年间,他主要居住在巴黎。在那里,他有机会于1912年观看了意大利未来主义者的展览,深受触动,不久便决定移居意大利。 1912年至1914年间,他在意大利的时光是他生活和艺术中最快乐、最活跃的时期。1914年,他参加了在罗马举行的未来派国际展览。他的风格逐渐向抽象方向发展。 1914年,他回到安特卫普。因健康原因,他被宣布不适合服兵役;第一次世界大战爆发后,他移居中立国荷兰的海牙。 他在与世隔绝的乡村感到孤独;他渴望阳光明媚的威尼斯,以及艺术家们熙熙攘攘的国际生活。 在他的艺术创作中,他回归了具象绘画,但这一时期的作品未能达到此前的成功水平。他陷入抑郁,并于1917年最终自杀身亡。
