Lorenzo Lotto

Lorenzo Lotto era un pittore, disegnatore e illustratore italiano, tradizionalmente collocato nella scuola veneziana, anche se gran parte della sua carriera fu trascorsa in altre città del nord Italia. Dipinse principalmente altari, soggetti religiosi e ritratti. Fu attivo durante la Rinascenza alta e la prima metà del periodo manierista, ma il suo lavoro mantenendo uno stile generalmente simile alla Rinascenza alta per tutta la sua carriera, anche se le sue pose nervose ed eccentriche e le sue distorsioni rappresentavano una fase transitoria verso i manieristi fiorentini e romani.
