Markus Pernhart
Paisajes realistas de Carintia
Markus Pernhart fue un pintor austriaco que alcanzó fama por sus representaciones de Carintia. Nacido en 1824 como hijo de un carpintero en lo que hoy es Untermieger, fue instruido en pintura por Eduard Ritter von Moro y Franz Steinfeld. También amplió su horizonte artístico mientras estudiaba en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Múnich. Durante toda su vida permaneció dedicado al género de la pintura de paisaje en todas sus múltiples variaciones. Enfrentando viento y clima, pasó interminables horas agachado al aire libre para producir sus pinturas realistas. Pernhart murió en 1871 a los 46 años en St. Ruprecht, cerca de Klagenfurt, donde también fue sepultado.
