Markus Pernhart
Paysages réalistes de Carinthie
Markus Pernhart était un peintre autrichien qui s'est fait connaître pour ses représentations de la Carinthie. Né en 1824, fils d'un charpentier dans ce qui est aujourd'hui Untermieger, il fut instruit en peinture par Eduard Ritter von Moro et Franz Steinfeld. Il élargit également son horizon artistique lors de ses études à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts de Munich. Tout au long de sa vie, il resta dévoué au genre de la peinture de paysage dans toutes ses multiples variations. Braveant le vent et les intempéries, il passa d'innombrables heures accroupi en plein air pour produire ses peintures réalistes. Pernhart mourut en 1871 à l'âge de 46 ans à St. Ruprecht, près de Klagenfurt, où il fut également enterré.
