Markus Pernhart
Paesaggi realisti della Carinzia
Markus Pernhart era un pittore austriaco che divenne famoso per le sue rappresentazioni della Carinzia. Nato nel 1824 come figlio di un falegname in quella che oggi è Untermieger, fu istruito nella pittura da Eduard Ritter von Moro e Franz Steinfeld. Ampliò anche il suo orizzonte artistico mentre studiava all'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Monaco. Per tutta la vita rimase dedicato al genere della pittura paesaggistica in tutte le sue molteplici variazioni. Sfida vento e maltempo, passò infinite ore accovacciato all'aperto per produrre i suoi dipinti realistici. Pernhart morì nel 1871 all'età di 46 anni a St. Ruprecht, vicino a Klagenfurt, dove fu anche sepolto.
