Michael Vandergucht (nascido Michiel van der Gucht) foi um gravador e pintor flamengo que trabalhou a maior parte de sua carreira na Inglaterra. Ele gravou retratos, ilustrações de livros e estampas arquitetônicas e pintou retratos. Michiel van der Gucht nasceu em Antuérpia, onde se tornou aluno de Frederik Bouttats, o Jovem. Foi registrado como aprendiz na guilda dos artistas de Antuérpia, a Guilda de São Lucas, entre 18 de setembro de 1672 e 18 de setembro de 1673. Ele é registrado em Amsterdã quando, em 19 de junho de 1682, publicou os editais de casamento para se casar com Maria van Hogenbergh van Aerschot. Ele morava no Rosengracht em Amsterdã. Ele mudou-se para a Inglaterra antes de julho de 1688. Ele treinou seus filhos, Gerard Vandergucht (1696/97 — 1776) e Jan (John) Vandergucht (c. 1699 — c. 1730), bem como George Vertue e James Smith, como gravadores. Seu filho Gerard tornou-se um dos principais gravadores de Londres, seguindo o método francês de combinar gravura precisa com tons obtidos por água-forte. Gerard teve 30 filhos, dos quais um, Benjamin, foi um bem-sucedido gravador, restaurador de pinturas e pintor. Michael Vandergucht morreu de gota em sua casa, o Golden Head na Queen Street, Bloomsbury, e foi sepultado no cemitério da igreja de St Giles-in-the-Fields. He provided many of the engravings for the first complete English translation of Andrea Palladio's I quattro libri dell'architettura published in London in 1715. Most plates in the publication are reverse-copies of those in the original edition, but with measurements corrected by its editor and publisher, Giacomo Leoni.
