光谷国四郎
日本洋画先驱
光谷国四郎是一位日本洋画风格画家。 他的叔父堀田是一位商人，也是冈山最早创作西式绘画的人之一。在初等教育期间，他展现出早期的艺术天赋，并被当时担任代课教师的知名艺术家吉富浅次郎发掘。毕业后，他于1891年前往东京。次年，他开始在小山正太郎的私立学校"不同社"（大致意为"多样性"）学习。 In 1900, he went to Europe to exhibit at the Exposition Universelle, won an award, and stayed there through 1901; taking a few lessons from Jean-Paul Laurens.
