Nelson Greene
Artista e historiador del Mohawk
Nelson Beach Greene fue un artista y editor estadounidense. Su madre era Annie Lydia Beach. Su padre, Horace Lester Greene, era propietario del Mohawk Valley Register en Fort Plain. Nelson Greene se trasladó a la ciudad de Nueva York en 1887, donde estudió arte en la Art Students League. Tras la muerte de su padre en 1891, ayudó a su madre a gestionar el Register. En 1906 se casó con la artista Lillian Currier Steinert. Muchos de sus dibujos aparecieron en la revista Puck. Editó numerosas publicaciones sobre la historia del valle de Mohawk, entre ellas The Old Mohawk Turnpike Book (1924) y History of the Mohawk Valley: Gateway to the West 1614-1925 (1925). Fue editor del Fort Plain Standard desde 1922 hasta 1939.
