Nelson Greene
Artista e storico della Mohawk
Nelson Beach Greene era un artista e editore americano. Sua madre era Annie Lydia Beach. Su padre, Horace Lester Greene, era proprietario del Mohawk Valley Register a Fort Plain. Nelson Greene si trasferì a New York nel 1887, dove studiò arte alla Art Students League. Dopo la morte di suo padre nel 1891, aiutò sua madre a gestire il Register. Nel 1906 sposò l'artista Lillian Currier Steinert. Molti dei suoi disegni sono apparsi sulla rivista Puck. Ha curato numerose pubblicazioni sulla storia della valle del Mohawk, tra cui The Old Mohawk Turnpike Book (1924) e History of the Mohawk Valley: Gateway to the West 1614-1925 (1925). È stato redattore del Fort Plain Standard dal 1922 al 1939.
