Nelson Greene
Artista e historiador do Mohawk
Nelson Beach Greene foi um artista e editor americano. Sua mãe era Annie Lydia Beach. Seu pai, Horace Lester Greene, era proprietário do Mohawk Valley Register em Fort Plain. Nelson Greene mudou-se para a cidade de Nova York em 1887, onde estudou arte na Art Students League. Após a morte de seu pai em 1891, ele ajudou sua mãe a gerenciar o Register. Em 1906, ele se casou com a artista Lillian Currier Steinert. Muitos de seus desenhos apareceram na revista Puck. Ele editou numerosas publicações sobre a história do vale do Mohawk, entre elas The Old Mohawk Turnpike Book (1924) e History of the Mohawk Valley: Gateway to the West 1614-1925 (1925). Foi editor do Fort Plain Standard de 1922 a 1939.
