Nicolaes Molenaer

Nicolaes (Klaes) Molenaer foi um pintor de paisagens e desenhista holandês da Idade de Ouro. Molenaer nasceu e faleceu em Haarlem na família do alfaiate Jan Mienssen Molenaer e de sua segunda esposa Grietgen Adriaens: eles tiveram oito filhos, dos quais nenhuma data de nascimento é conhecida, pois a família era católica romana e nenhum registro de batismo foi mantido. De acordo com o RKD, entre seus irmãos estavam os pintores Bartholomeus e Jan Miense Molenaer. Ele tornou-se membro da Guilda de São Lucas de Haarlem em 1651 e pagou anuidades até 1676. Foi um pintor de paisagens de inverno influenciado por Jacob van Ruisdael.
