Percy Thomas

Percy Thomas era un pittore e incisore inglese nato a Brentford, Londra. Su padre, Ralph Thomas, sarebbe stato collezionista, incisore e amico di Whistler, ma in realtà era anche un Serjeant-at-law, equivalente a un giudice senior. Thomas studiò sotto Whistler, Auguste Delatre (1822-1907) e presso le scuole della Royal Academy sotto Millais. Fu eletto membro della Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers nel 1881 ed espose presso la Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, la Dudley Gallery Art Society, la Royal Academy of Arts, la Royal Society of British Artists, il Royal Institute of Oil Painters e alla Art Gallery. Diverse acquaforti di Thomas sono nelle collezioni dell'Ashmolean Museum, della Auckland Art Gallery in Nuova Zelanda e del V&A. La sua morte fu registrata a Hailsham, nel Sussex, e fu sepolto nella vicina Hellingly.
