Pierre-Jacques Volaire era un pittore francese. Nacque a Tolone, figlio del pittore e scrittore ufficiale della città , e divenne allievo di Claude Joseph Vernet. Fu suo assistente per otto anni ed era noto per i suoi paesaggi e le sue marine. Morì a Napoli.
