Pierre-Victor Galland
Pintor decorativo e arquiteto francês
Pierre-Victor Galland foi um pintor decorativo francês. Até os 16 anos, Galland estudou trabalho em metal com seu pai, Jacques Galland, um ourives. Em seguida, juntou-se ao estúdio de Henri Labrouste para estudar arquitetura. Após dois anos de formação, Labrouste incentivou-o a seguir seu interesse pelas artes decorativas sob a direção de Michel Martin Drolling. Em 1843, o pintor decorativo Pierre-Luc-Charles Ciceri (1782–1868) contratou Galland para auxiliar na pintura de figuras, flores, frutas e guirlandas. Em 1848, trabalhou novamente com Labrouste na decoração da Fête de la Concorde. Galland foi responsável pelo teto da grande escadaria da Dartmouth House em Mayfair, Londres, Inglaterra. Marcel de Chollet foi um de seus alunos na Escola Nacional Superior de Belas-Artes.
