Pieter Christoffel Wonder
Retratista holandés activo en Inglaterra
Pieter Christoffel Wonder fue un pintor neerlandés, activo en Inglaterra. Wonder fue en gran parte autodidacta, haciendo copias de los antiguos maestros, aunque entre 1802 y 1804 asistió a clases en la Academia de Arte de Düsseldorf. En 1807 estableció la "Genootschap Kunstliefde" (Sociedad de Amor al Arte) en Utrecht junto con otros artistas, incluyendo a Jan Kobell, y sirvió como director. De 1823 a 1831, trabajó en Inglaterra, donde se hizo conocido como pintor de retratos, pero también pintó algunas escenas de interiores y copias de obras de Rafael.
