Pieter Mulier I fu un pittore olandese dell'Età dell'Oro. Secondo il RKD, si sposò nel 1635 e divenne membro della Gilda di San Luca di Haarlem nel 1638. È noto per i suoi paesaggi italianizzanti e marine nello stile di Simon de Vlieger e Jan van Goyen. Fu maestro di suo figlio Pieter Mulier II e di Frans de Hulst.
