Pintó erupciones y marinas
Pietro Antoniani fue un pintor italiano, especializado principalmente en marinas y paisajes, a menudo animados con figuras, pero también en temas históricos. Al igual que su contemporáneo Giacinto Gigante de la siguiente generación, y apelando al gusto británico, las erupciones volcánicas exóticas del Vesubio fueron un tema popular para el artista. Probablemente fue alumno de Jacob Philipp Hackert y precursor de la Escuela de Posillipo.
