Pietro Antonio Novelli
Peintre vénitien de retables et fresques
Pietro Antonio Novelli était un peintre et graveur italien. Novelli s'est formé auprès du peintre vénitien Jacopo Amigoni. En 1768, il a été admis comme membre de l'Accademia di Belle Arti de Venise. Novelli a réalisé des retables et des fresques dans toute l'Italie du Nord. Certaines de ses commandes provenaient de Catherine la Grande. Il s'est installé à Rome vers 1779, où il est resté pendant plus de 20 ans. Il est ensuite retourné à Venise, où il est mort en 1804. Ses mémoires ont été publiés à titre posthume en 1834.
