Richard Barrett Davis

Richard Barrett Davis RBA was een dieren- en landschapschilder. Davis werd in 1782 geboren in Watford. Hij studeerde onder William Evans van Eton, onder William Beechey en aan de scholen van de Royal Academy, waar hij in 1802 voor het eerst exposeerde. Hij sloot zich in 1829 aan bij de Society of British Artists en werd in 1831 benoemd tot dierenschilder van Willem IV. Hij overleed in 1854.
