サミュエル・エールハートは、ペンシルベニア州ポッツビル生まれのアメリカの漫画家兼イラストレーターで、ニューヨーク市の学校システムで教育を受けました。その後、ミュンヘンで美術を学びました。彼の作品は『ハーパーズ・マンスリー』（1878-79年）、『パック』（1880年、および1888-1913年）、『ジャッジ』（1887年）に掲載されました。彼は1937年10月26日にニューヨークのブルックリンで亡くなりました。
