아르 데코 운동의 주요 인물이며 현대 추상 미술의 선구자 중 한 명인 세르게이 글라드키는 1920년대와 30년대에 활동한 프랑스의 건축가, 디자이너 및 그래픽 아티스트였습니다. 그는 주로 큐비즘 스타일로 유명했으며, 그의 장식적 추상 판화는 대부분 자연에서 유래한 기하학적 형태를 창의적이고 조화롭게 통합한 것이 특징이었습니다. Although inspired by natural motifs, his ornamental patterns were imaginative abstract interpretations rather than literal depictions of these subjects. In 1928, Gladky published his most well known work, Nouvelles Compositions Decoratives, a collection of vibrant, fanciful designs of animals, plants, fish, birds, and insects.
