元代写実花鳥画家

沈孟堅は元代の画家で、銭選（字は舜挙）の弟子であり、花鳥画を得意とした。彼の画風は非常に写実的であった。 One of his surviving works, 'Peonies and Butterflies,' is considered a treasure among flower-and-bird paintings. The painting is highly realistic, with a clever composition and fine detailing. It balances motion and stillness, bringing the subjects to life, and gives people a sense of elegance, charm, and grandeur. This work carries on the tradition of Song Dynasty court-style painting while incorporating the lively and playful spirit of scholar-painting. It blends the precision of meticulous brushwork with the freedom of expressive ink painting.
