Suzuki Harunobu
Pionero del grabado a color
Suzuki Harunobu fue un diseñador japonés de grabados xilográficos en el estilo ukiyo-e. Fue un innovador, el primero en producir estampas a todo color (nishiki-e) en 1765, haciendo obsoletos los anteriores métodos de impresión en dos y tres colores. Harunobu utilizó numerosas técnicas especiales y representó una amplia variedad de temas, desde poemas clásicos hasta bellezas contemporáneas. Al igual que muchos artistas de su época, Harunobu también produjo varias shunga, o imágenes eróticas. Durante su vida y poco después, muchos artistas imitaron su estilo. Algunos, como Harushige, incluso presumían de su capacidad para falsificar las obras del gran maestro. Gran parte de la vida de Harunobu permanece desconocida.
