Theodore J. Richardson
Berühmt für Alaska-Landschaftsbilder
Theodore Jerome Richardson wurde in Readfield, Maine, geboren und wuchs in Red Wing, Minnesota, auf. Nach der Highschool studierte er an der Boston Normal Art School, bevor er nach Minnesota zurückkehrte, wo er am Minnesota State Normal College in Winona Kunst, Schönschrift und Geometrie unterrichtete. 1880 wurde Richardson von den öffentlichen Schulen in Minneapolis als Leiter des industriellen Zeichnens eingestellt. Als Gründervater und Charter-Mitglied der Minneapolis Society of Fine Arts im Jahr 1883 hatte er 1928 seine erste posthume Retrospektive. Richardson ist vor allem für seine Alaskabilder bekannt, die er ab 1884 in den Sommern malte.
