托马斯·道蒂
开创美国氛围风景画
托马斯·多蒂是一位与哈德逊河画派有关的美国艺术家。 托马斯·多蒂出生于费城，是第一位专门从事风景画创作的美国艺术家，他既因技艺精湛而成功，也得益于美国人开始将兴趣转向风景画。他以描绘宾夕法尼亚州、纽约州、新英格兰地区，尤其是哈德逊河谷的河流与山脉的宁静且常具氛围感的风景画而闻名。他在一家皮革制造商处当学徒期间自学绘画。1827年，他当选为美国国家设计学院的荣誉院士。 他主要在费城工作，但也曾在波士顿和纽约生活和工作。
