湯瑪斯·道蒂
開創美國氛圍風景畫
湯瑪斯·多蒂是一位與哈德遜河畫派有關的美國藝術家。 湯瑪斯·多蒂出生於費城，是第一位專門從事風景畫創作的美國藝術家，他既因技藝精湛而成功，也得益於美國人開始將興趣轉向風景畫。他以描繪賓夕法尼亞州、紐約州、新英格蘭地區，尤其是哈德遜河谷的河流與山脈的寧靜且常具氛圍感的風景畫而聞名。他在一家皮革製造商處當學徒期間自學繪畫。1827年，他當選為美國國家設計學院的榮譽院士。 他主要在費城工作，但也曾在波士頓和紐約生活和工作。
